Paul is the CEO of Real Estate Investors Plc, the non – executive Chairman of Bond Wolfe and CP Bigwood and was the former Regional Chairman & Strategy Advisor to Coutts Bank (West Midlands) and a member of the bank’s executive steering board. Paul is also a former Director of the Birmingham Hippodrome and past President of the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce. In 2003, he was named Entrepreneur of the Year at the Asian Jewel Awards, and was awarded the Lloyds TSB Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005.

In addition to his commercial interests, Paul is an active supporter of a number of charitable, cultural and community organizations. Paul was the High Sheriff for the County of West Midlands in 2009 / 10 and was appointed Deputy Lieutenant for County of West Midlands in 2008.

Chief executive of AIM-listed Real Estate Investors, he set up his property company in 1983, creating Bond Wolfe which initially focussed on the West Bromwich area before branching out to cover Birmingham and the Midlands.

In 2003 he was awarded the PWC Entrepreneur of the Year award and two years later was the youngest ever recipient Lloyds TSB Midlands Lifetime Achievement Award.

Paul Bassi, who is 53, was born in Birmingham of Sikh Punjabi origin. He is married with three children. Among his assets is a portfolio of UK and overseas property. His interests include prestige cars, tennis and racquetball.
